Our Palette

Shiraz:

Shiraz is Australia’s most grown variety. It is a vigorous wine with a spreading habit.

Grown in almost every Australian wine region, it is sometimes used alone, but more often blended with other wine varieties. Around the world Shiraz has become synonymous with Australian wine.

Sauvignon Blanc:

An increasingly important variety in Australian wine, even though it is traditionally a cooler climate variety, it is grown in many regions.

Strong, crisp varietal character in wines from the cooler regions, often mixed with Semillon.

Cabernet Sauvignon:

From the Bordeaux region of France, Cabernet Sauvignon is now the second most grown variety in Australia.

Wines of Cabernet Sauvignon have good color and distinct varietal characters especially when grown in colder regions.

Chardonnay:

Starting slowly, Chardonnay is now Australia’s most planted white grape with more than 15,000 hectares of land under cultivation.

A versatile grape, Chardonnay can be used for sparkling and still wines and has produced exceptional sweet wines. It is Australia’s most popular white wine. Adding softness to this otherwise austere variety, Chardonnay is often blended with Semillon.

Grenache:

An important variety in Southern Europe and increasingly in the hotter, dryer Australian regions, particularly in South Australia.

Wines made from Grenache are low in color by Australian standards and age rapidly. Grenache is used for rose styles and fortified wines. For red table wines, it is usually combined with varieties such as Carignan, Mataro, Circaud or Shiraz.

THE TEAM

Innovative Business & Management professional with a combined professional experience of over 14+ years in multiple capacities across different geographies.
A highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter, Saurav started with sourcing & buying right from the core of production centres for global brands in Europe & Americas. In a short span became the sourcing head of division at an upcoming now market lead Indian online retailer.

“An eye for product and sourcing the best material at the best price is my strength. Confident, proven and experienced in leading & working with winning teams, I am well equipped to work within or by myself. My professional experience has physically spanned two countries (India & Australia) in addition to work relationships in multiple regions.
Settled in Sydney, I was quickly drawn to opportunities of exporting Australian products to markets like India where demand is ever increasing. Australian wine & spirits demand has increased multiple folds with its quality & taste speaking for itself globally. I believe India is now ready to accept more reasonably priced imported wines as it is the fastest growing sector in its category and will continue for coming years. This is the perfect time to get in, and the recent successes of new path breaking domestic & international spirit brands is a perfect example. Taking initiative is the key, the market is buzzing and it’s going to get crowded very soon.”
